Description:

Tolquhon Castle is for 99% a 16th century building with a 15th century tower. The castle was in later ages used as a farmhouse before finally being abandoned around the end of the 19th century.

It is a very picturesque castle. James VI visited Tolquhon in 1589, during his campaign against the Gordon Earl of Huntly. The 10th laird, Sir Alexander, saved Charles II’s life at the Battle of Worcester in 1651.
