Description:

A 11-stage walk with an overall difficulty of 2 (Slightly harder) following the Fife coast. Paths are not always visible and navigation skills could come in handy. The Fife Coastal Path is quite an experience. From the Forth and Tay estuaries (Link with the John Muir Way) and intimate St. Andrews (St Duthac's Way) to the former coal mining towns of central Fife. History is everywhere along this trail. 15th century castles, 18th century coal yards and salt mills, the small fishing villages of the East Neuk and the bustling areas of the west with rugged cliffs, great beaches and wildlife reserves. One of the most intriguing things (it's optional!) about this trail is the Elie Chainwalk. On this  two-hour challenge, you scramble along cliff sides; clinging onto chains attached to the cliffs.
