Description:

This is a rather short trail with an overall difficulty grading of 2 (Slightly harder). There are paths that are somewhat indistinct and navigation skills are than required. Compared to many other walks this will probably feel as quite an easy walk. Not too strenuous and certainly not too long.

The Three Lochs Way starts at Balloch and crosses the Highland Boundary Fault towards the Southern Highlands and Inveruglas. The trail takes you through stunning mountainous scenery and splendid views of the Firth of Clyde as you pass through this beautiful area. There are links with 4 other trails: The John Muir Way takes off from Balloch and than there is the Loch Lomond and Cowal Way near Tarbet, the Mary, Queen of Scots way at Arrochar and, if you're really in the mood, you might take on the iconic West Highland Way a few kms north from Inveruglas.

  1. Balloch - Helensburgh 13,5 km (Slightly harder)
  2. Helensburgh - Garelochhead 14,75 km (Easy)
  3. Garelochhead - Arrochar / Tarbet 19 km (Slightly harder)
  4. Arrochar - Inveruglas 9,5 km (Easy)
