Description:

From this spot you'll have one of the very best views of the river Tweed and the Eildon Hills. The hills serve as a reminder of the volcanic activity that once took place in the area. The lookout was known to be one of Sir Walter Scott's favourite places to come and reflect.

According to a popular story, Sir Walter Scott stopped at this point so often on the way to his home at Abbotsford House, that his horses would halt without command.
