Description:
Chesters Roman Fort is the most complete Roman cavalry fort in Britain and was built to guard the Roman bridge which carried Hadrian's Wall over the River North Tyne. The entire foundations of the headquarters building are visible and, down by the river, the bath house is extremely well preserved. The outlines of the buildings and the remains of the crop fields are still visible to this day.
