Cape Wrath ***
Region: Caithness, Sutherland & Ross
Description:
Cape Wrath is one of Britan's iconic cornerstones where the north and west coasts of Scotland meet. There are stunning views with dramatic coastlines, the expansive Atlantic Ocean and a vast moorland wilderness all in one place. There is no land mass between here and the Arctic, Orkney can be seen to the north east and the Western Isles viewed to the south west.
You'll see one of the most scenic lighthouses in Britain designed by Robert Stevenson, father of the writer Robert Louis Stevenson and you can have tea or a beer and sandwich at Britain’s most remote restaurant, the Ozone Cafe. On the way there you will experience a landscape so barren it was used to train troops for the invasion of the Falkland Islands.
